Description
NV Krug – Grand Cuvee Brut Champagne Tasting Notes From WineAccess.com:
Light yellow-gold. Highly aromatic bouquet of fresh tangerine, candied fig, pear skin and ginger, plus a smoky mineral overtone. Tangy, precise and concentrated, offering a complex blend of citrus and orchard fruit and floral flavors underscored by chalky minerality. Juicy, tightly focused, youthfully angular Champagne, with nervy acidity adding cut to the long, sappy finish.

Krug is the epitome of luxe, grandeur and decadence, with an other-worldliness and an amplitude as lofty as its mesospheric price. GC is definitive Krug, exotically rich, extravagantly complex and thunderingly expansive. It’s every bit as enchanting as its legendary reputation anticipates.

Complex and powerful, although I do like them even more with a bit of bottle age on top. Yeast, biscuits, aldehyde sherry-like tang, lemon, spices, hazelnuts many flavours and a deliciously savoury briney palate thats a masterful example of controlled power. Fills the mouth and finishes super long and spicy. As impressive as ever.
