Description
The Macallan 18 Sherry Bottling Note
Another vintage of The Macallan 18 year old, matured in the finest ex-Sherry casks from Jerez. Tremendous single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside. Super Sherried Macallan 18 year old, now carrying a release year rather than a vintage. This is the 2016 release of this sought-after whisky.
This bottle is the Rolls Royce of whisky, with a deep, smooth texture and heated seats. It’s very rare that you hear a bad word about this age statement and the standard has not dropped off. Year after year the quality is kept outstandingly high.
Tasting Note by Master of Malt Website
Nose: Classic spiced dried fruits and creamy vanilla with orange peel, crystallised ginger and apple wood.
Palate: Rum and raisin, dates, caramel and cloves alongside custard and citrus hints. Rich and satisfying.
Finish: Spices and dried fruits from the palate remain alongside warming ginger and refined oakiness.
Overall: Classic stuff from The Macallan.

Tasting Notes From Doug McIvor of Whisky Magazine:
Nose Deeply attractive, honeyed with prickling wood spice and brandy butter.
Palate Rich and lingering, yielding warm raisiny, sherried and oaky notes.
Finish Long, oaky-peppery, distinguished. Smoky at the last.
Comment An aristocratic and balanced Macallan, though drier than some recent 18 year releases.
